Got it sorted. I used the flat end of a drill bit and passed it into the hole, where the cable head is, from the brake shoes side and gave it a good few smacks with a lump hammer and it popped out....

I did it without the relocation bracket. I just had to cut a small nick about 0.5mm and then you just need a wedge at the top of the relocated panel to keep it in place...
