if you only have around 7v at the amp...theres your problem. wow, surprised the amp even works at that voltage! check your power and ground wires make sure they're contacting on the battery correctly.

The fuse doesn't protect for rings amp load, it protects from the wire shorting.... It does protect your car, as if it shorts the fuse will blow. as long as the fuse is rated at less then the wiring...
