On the headers thing, shouldn't they bolt up to your existing cats? Or am I missing something? I would love to do a headers and a muffler delete, but I'm afraid of failing inspection constantly.

I'm thinking if I can figure out the ID, I can cut out the damaged section and get a hose coupler of some kind to get it sealed back up. That's about as budget as it gets as long as the bottleneck...

Interesting... I don't think there's play in the tie rods, which makes me inclined to believe you. Ball joint rubber don't look very good, but I guess the proof is whether it feels tight and tracks...
