If you have access to PA Soft ver 1.4 you can look at live data to see when ac switch is pressed, then whether computer activates ac compressor and then when clutch comes on.

You thermostat is bad. When it overheated it must have popped out the electrical thermostat. Change your thermostat and water pump. Bleed your system several times and check for other coolant...

Probably your throttle cable that goes down to the throttle attached down on the intake. M52's have cables, M54 are drive by wire and do not have the throttle cable.

Find out what the body shop did to your car. Did they have to touch any cooling system parts? Check your exp tank for leaks. Check your thermostat and WP. Still could be damaged from the accident.
