Me too - just did this. $2.00 for both wiretaps and the little female connectors at the Menards. Oh yeah 22 cents for a foot of 14AWG wire.
The taps are easy as you don't have to try to strip the brown wire. I think this DIY took 4 minutes, maybe 5.
I love this board!
Now I need to open a fixit shop where I will only charge $200 ( 1/2 dealers price!) to fix the light on BMWs.
For those PRE-FACELIFTERS that are posting here that they don't have the right tab, etc. I thought this was only a facelift issue (ie there are now 4 bulbs on the facelift instead of 3 on the older E46s yet they still just have one puny ground wire.
Am I wrong? Perhaps extra ground helps them too, but maybe they actually have a bulb that is going out or close to it, and needs to be changed.
