You don't know much about E46's, do you?
Sorry, that was a flip answer. The plastic parts of E46 cooling systems are notorious for failing between 60k-120k miles. It's best to replace the thermostat housing and end tanks after 60k as preventative maintenance. And the hoses while your there.
