Brake Pad Noise
I put on a set of high performance brake pads for a recent track day and - while the increase in performance was impressive - the noise is going to turn me into an axe-murderer very soon.
Naturally, I've done a lot of searching about for solutions; I understand the issues; and I've implemented a few solutions (Teflon spacers and then I tried anti-squeal goo behind the pads). While the noise has been reduced somewhat, any amount of fingernails on blackboards is too much, right?
If this were a dedicated track car, there wouldn't be an issue. But this is not a dedicated track car. In fact, it is my daily driver.
So the question is, is it futile to think that I could find a high performance brake pad that does not squeal like a banshee passing a cactus through its urethra?
Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.
