Yeah I would say a big difference. Optimally you want a high GI carb (dextrose or maltodextrin for example) w/ your protein in your PWO. Like M3 said, it's arguably the most important meal of the day. Not only does insulin from the carbs help shuttle protein to their respective targets (think protein synthesis), but your hormones are elevated (glycogen synthase) after you work out and allow for greater uptake of carbs (supercompensation) to refuel those muscles. It's very important!
