Emmit Smith > Barry Sanders.

While Sanders was a phenomenal athlete and had unbelievable skill, you couldn't build a team around the guy. You could give him the ball and, on the same play, he COULD return 12 yards, 75 yards, or -15. His skill set lay outside of the norm and was only really valuable as a wild card running back. You really couldn't count on him to provide 4-6 yards up the middle over and over IN ADDITION TO the huge breakaway runs.

If looking at talent, I would put Sanders over Smith, but were I looking to build an all star team, I would put Smith above simply because of the consistent ability to provide SOMETHING. Sanders huge runs and amazing breakaways were amazing, but the risk reward all too often left fans

Only other addition is I would love to see the peak earnings of these guys (just in salary). I would imagine it's almost comical to stack the earnings of Brady to Sanders to Peyton, etc... Those guys playing in the 60s got the shaft.
