The I-bus is the data bus that the components in the car use to communicate. It is used by the radio, nav, phone, ihka, steering wheel buttons, etc.
On page 600-5 of the Bentley manual there is a diagram of the Ibus, although they label it the Kbus.
The Ibus wires in my car are all white, redstripe W/ yellow hash marks on the wire.
And that's whats cool about my E46!
