Hi Delmarco! Nice DIY. Always a big fan of your DIY's. Today I got my transmitter which I bought from Ebay. I noticed your harness has 3 wires but mine has only two. I have a '99 328i with a manufacture date of 11/1998 so it's possible that during that time the rolling code transmitter were not out yet (don't quote me on that). So that's why the cars then only had two wires. One to power the transmitter unit and the other to ground it. Yours has 3: one to power the unit, one to power the lights within the unit and the other to ground the unit. The transmitter I have has 3 pins on the female receptor. This is my best guess. What's your take on it? And if there's anybody else out there with the older E46s that have the two wires instead of the three, let me know so I know that that situation is normal. I'm thinking of just running a new wire into the blank pin and splice it with the other power lead to complete the full function of the transmitter. Thanks!!!!!
