I'm still trying to figure out exactly what this means, but it sounds like the team has found a way to mathematically describe whether or not an observation measures an entangled particle or a separable particle. It sounds like it's all a matter of perspective. Look at the quantum state from this side, and it's entangled. Look from the other side and it isn't.
