~$5k is about what these run. KBB even shows it. Anyone telling you it should cost $1k-$2K less has NO CLUE what they are talking about. Please $3,000 for that car, what idiots. But as buying any car, depends how baldy they need to sell and that can allow some flexibiltiy. People expect to be offered less than asking.
As mentioned, be sure to check the history on the rear subframe fix. If it hasn't had it I'd be real wary of buying it. And then do a PPI (pre purchase inspection) and that should tell you what it's going to run you. If this car has been taken care of and it's real clean I'd take it over a 1-2 yr newer 325i.
But each car is different and has to be graded on it's own upkeep.
