False! I am in NY and I bought my 02 m3 for 13k in Houston Tx with 116k mi. Clean title no accidents, all original paint and super clean bc it's never seen a winter. Yes a little high Milage but nothing an M can't handle, I have never had any problems with it and it runs like a champ.

I wouldn't do an s54 swap on a car that has 155k mi unless all the suspension has been refreshed and the chasis and subframe has been reinforced. With that said you are going to do what you want to do anyway. A shop I highly recommend is Azevedo Motorsports in NJ, they did my previous e36 m3 b32 euro swap. However since u are already on the west coast, why dont you look for shops around there?
