I guess overkill is a bad word to use. I just think it would be a struggle for OP to get in that much protein, since he seems to be the average joe eating wise. For his goal to lose his stomach fat, 1g of protein per lb of bw will ensure he maintains his lean mass and cuts the fat. If he were trying to put on muscle (perhaps he is as well) then absolutely 1.5g is better than 1g!

And eating healthy can be very simple, although this subforum takes it much deeper, which I love.
