I agree with pretty much everything here. I considered selling my 323i, but once I thought about it more, I've come to the conclusion it would be pointless to considering how good it is in comparison to other cars out there for similar money. I know if I found another 323i in similar spec and condition for ~$4k, I'd probably buy it on the spot for my fiancée so I know she has something reliable and easy for me to work on. In fact, I'm probably just going to give her mine if I ever find the e39 I'm looking for...
Oh, and E46's are damn good in the snow with a proper set of winter tires. I've even pulled people out of ditches with it in past winters.
