But in all seriousness, if you find spending that much in maintenance ridiculous, what about those who spend that much, or more on modifications which many could argue are useless on a car that then leaves them stranded the following week due to it's original fuel pump failing? Just an example, but I read about people in the same scenario on this forum all the time. If you like the car you drive, and you plan on driving it for some time, it seems spending a significant amount of money to ensure the car will not leave you stranded and drives as it did when it left the factory is a sound investment. Even more so if you enjoy doing the work yourself.
