That's what happens when you become too successful. When you're small you can be risky and try all kinds of crap. However when you're established you worry about a dramatic change that endangers your bread and butter. So then you go conservative and take small steps.
It's the way of the industry. This give smaller players a chance to come out with something revolutionary and the cycle begins anew. It's not a bad thing really.
