I've searched the forums and haven't found anything addressing this issue. I recently purchased a 2004 325 convertible, and the trunk occasionally doesn't latch when I close it. It takes several tries before it latches.

Sometimes, when it latches, I get an indicator that the trunk is open. So I open and close the trunk until the indicator clears.

I have a manual top, if that makes a difference.

I can't imagine that this is the only E46 that has this problem. Anyone have a similar experience, preferably someone who solved the problem?
