In my experience with lowering springs, H&R provides improved cornering, but general on the road comfort is given up; with Eibach springs, they are not as stiff and do provide a better ride. That's my 2 cents. As for shocks, investigate Bilstein Heavy Duty dampers; these are just marginally stiffer than stock and provide a smooth ride, but if the goal is handling above all else, check into H&R Race Springs with Bistein Sport Shocks - now if you go this route, just know any comfortable and forgiving ride characteristics the car once exhibited, will now be out the window.
