They have some noticeable turbo lag, which is kinda cool in itself, but also means you won't get instant power from a start. After a second of accelerating, then the engine picks up. Definitely very cool looking and reliable cars, and the coupes are rather rare.

The big problem with Mercedes-Benz of that era is they don't handle the elements very well. In a hot dry climate, the paint, wood, leather, and plastics like to shrink, crack, and delaminate. In wet climates, rust can become and issue, and interior mildew can be bad with the natural fibers MBZ liked to use in the seats.

I think it'd make a pretty classy and reliable daily driver, though not at all cheap should it get any damage or need any work.
