No more of that 'be the first to kill the master chief, screw the rest' crap that is/was the standard of the covenant.
I haven't noticed that they fight more together but I have noticed them being more aware of their surroundings. The grunts seem to be more willing to run for cover and shoot from behind things and the elites will fight till their shields are down and then go for cover.

This also means that it's less run and gun and more fight and head for cover until the shields recharge.
