As eee4666 said, unsubscribe from the sub-forums that you aren't interested in (for me, it's r/atheism because they're all against religions and will **** on any religion out there, intentionally, and will see themselves as higher than those who do believe, and r/politics because politics don't interest me, and the past couple of months riddled my update feed with GO OBAMA!!!! WOO!!!! threads).
With that said, you'll learn a lot, and being able to read AMAs by the likes of Terry Crews, many famous singers/bands, and even the president of the U.S is awesome.
TILs can be very interesting, but the r/askreddit is usually where a lot of gems hide. You'll learn a lot from people's previous experiences, things to avoid, things to look forward to, etc.
