Edit: just realized you were canadian - I'm not sure what the designations are or how the tests are administered out there. CPA (certified public accountant) is pretty much equivalent to "chartered accountant" in most places.
Haha I was definitely thinking of CFA, but I work for a US based oil company so I know plenty of CPA's. I actually am currently working as an accountant, but I hate it with a passion... switching to financial analysis. I was going to go for a CMA, which is more private company oriented (some/no audit, tax). CA is public firm auditing/tax/etc but pretty soon they (CA/CMA/CGA) are all merging into a clone CPA.
