If it is indeed the wheel bearing, and if it has degraded enough, there will be play in the bearing. This can be identified by first jacking up the car and next, grasp the tire top and bottom, then try to move the wheel back and forth. If there is any play/movement at all, the worn bearing will indeed need to be pressed out of the kingpin.
