It is hard to believe that all of Russia, China, Europe, Canada , US, Australia, Japan, and many more nations were at war with each other. We fought a war and conquered hundred of thousands of square miles in four years and after 11 years we have not been able to beat a bunch of illiterate bronze age hooligans in Afghanistan.

And in WW2, something outrageous like 90 percent of the federal budget went to defense spending.
