Crank ps can cause stalling without throwing a code. Mine did. A couple of times before it eventually threw a code. Cam sensors are more likely to produce rough performance issues and misfires. Nothing works if the crank ps misses a beat. That's why I would replace the crank sensor rather than the cam sensors if the problem is a cut out problem rather than a rough performance problem. Its not a costly job and I would rather just chnage it than risk stalling on a motorway and another unsuspecting car backending me.
