I would guess you'd have to be close to 380-400whp. First, they have more tire and grip. Then M3s are geared shorter which could actually be a disadvantage but then it revs to 8300 rpm. When I mean rev, it pulls hard to redline. Then if the M3 is DCT, the shifts are so quick that an upshift doesn't even slow the momentum at all. Then the engine revs to quickly, it doesn't matter.

I can keep pace with an E9X M3 on the straight but DCT cars will pull a bit with each shift (mine and them). But then I dive bomb them into the corners and then pass...only to hold them up on the straights. But I usually pull away after every corner.
