One thing that really helps out a lot is spending 10-15 min on a solid warm up. If my hips are tight I end up compensating with my upper body/back instead of my legs/hips like I should. This has led to me feeling it in my lower back a few times

Some exercises that help me alot are wall balls and goblet squats. Jump squats are cool too
