The cold version CCV has insulation around the CCV valve itself, and one or more of the plastic vent pipes. There can be issues in cold weather when the engine is run but long enough to fully warm up the CCV. For Lubbock, I wouldn't worry about the cold version, and go with the normal one. In terms of parts, I would stick with the BMW version, and order it from one of the discounting BMW sponsors like or where it runs $47.
