i can't confirm, becouse this information is not correct.
e39 530i fuel filter (with pressure regulator) is 3.5 Bar (like E46) - but the pressure regulator is "changable" becouse its secured by a splint. You can release the splint, remove the stock 3.5 bar pressure regulator and replace this one with a bigger one (4.0 bar or more...)
but be careful:
the stock fuel pump is only able to deliver enough fuel @ 4,0 bar. More pressure = less fuel, becouse the stock fuel-pump isn't able to produce so much boost on the fuel rail @ WOT!
