I think a lot of it has to do with the aluminum block. It is not as stiff as the S series iron blocks so is more likely to propagate harmonics.
One of the worst things you can do is bang the motor off the rev limiter. Ours is set to 6900 and we do hit it but we try not to ride it.
Retaining the stock flywheel and adding a damper are two things that will mitigate the harmonic problems but they aren't a 100% solution.
