What they could site is reduced incidents since the 86 ban on machine guns. At one time somebody could by a open bolt semi and remove/modify the dissconector to make it full auto. There were Alot of illegal machine guns riding around the ghetto back in the late 70's/early 80's.

They reclassified any new open bolt semis as machine guns (grandfathered old ones) and closed the registration. Since then there has been FAR less crimes commited with machine guns.

You do realize that this is a closed registration? Theres not going to be ANY new assault weapons made. Your average AR15 could go the way of the m16 and I'm sure they will use the stats on legal NFA ownership/crime to push putting "assault rifles" on to the NFA list to regulate them. Assuming IF they let them be transferable it wont be long before the prices really start climbing.

And yes, this is a "hitler" situation. First its registration and then its confications. It's been done multiple times before and it always ends in death.

And they haven't evolved much I don't think I'm the only person who's received a "thanks for your opinion, but we're going to do what we want" response from a senator or congressman.
Forget them, there going to screw us anyway.

"thanks for your VOTE, but we're going to do what we want" If you catch my drift.
