I prefer to lift alone when I can because I don't like to socialize a lot of the time. Lifting with someone requires me to talk, and lifting is like a "no-talk-only-think-zone" for me. I'm self-motivated, so I don't require accountability. With that said, I also don't go heavy without a spotter. I "socialize" enough to be on speaking terms with certain people who workout in my gym. When I need a spot, I ask one of them.
