I used the silicon one for mine, but both are likely OK. Silicon is the same material used on the original DISA. Viton is slightly harder (apply some oil/lube before installation) and is worse in terms of it's resistance to cold (-15F low limit), but has better high temp resistance. Silicon has good static sealing properties, and is reasonably good in terms of its temperature range for both heat and cold.
