If you want brighter halogens, it might be worth considering the Osram Rallye bulbs -- they're 65W H7s (essentially an H9 burner on an H7 base). I think they're something like 50% brigher.
I remember reading about the brighter lights...and about how one shouldn't use 65W where there was a 55W bulb before...but know guys have done this without issue. I think I just had a 'ethical' conflict with it, want to stay true to my stock roots!

I'll give those a try, Terra...time for new bulbs anyway, I I've also read that halogens get duller over time. You happen to know if that's true?
