My Ride: Suburban LT 4x4
I do not own a single gun or bullet anymore.

If I were to advise someone, I would say the following:

1000 9mm
1000 .45
1000 .223
1000 7.62x39
1000 Your Choice
5000 .22LR

That is 10,000 rounds total.

I would put that away in lock box or separate safe or whatever, and buy separate ammo to shoot.

Each time you go to to the range, you buy an extra box of for each box you shoot.
A decent range only marks up ammo $1-$3 per box.
Supporting a local company is worth the mark up.
It is convenient and you will build a long term relationship with the shop.
Your wallet wont take such a hit and you will never have to worry about ammo.
