Lower retainers are not titanium, they are steel.

Valves are custom made, learnt a hard lesson, when a off the shelf valve let go at 8600 rpm one day, causing a total loss of engine. From there on I decided to get custom valves, custom means material and weight.

As of today, I have 5 different sets of camshafts. Still 1 set of them not tested.

DLC coated rocker arms.

Vanos is on the car, vanos delete caused loss of torque, tested back in 2007.
I know what you mean about off the shelf not being strong enough. I had a exhaust valve and lock actually pull through a titanium retainer.

You need to do a lot to these engines to push limits with them. One of the reasons I'm going LSx conversion
