Buy OEM (preferably "Genuine") sensors guys. You want the manufacturer to be using the same internals as the original parts. There's only a few components in there (hall cell, magnet, a few capacitors and a couple resistors), but they're all made to tight tolerances.
I haven't seen our sensors this up close before, but now I can tell you that BMW, at least for the M52/54, was 5-8 years ahead in technology versus other auto companies. It's cool to see that. Other companies just switched away from this type of sensor design a few years ago at the earliest.
Another example, GM will be coming out with variable valve lift in a few years, while BMW already has a system implemented and in production (Valvetronic).
