The E46 is a fairly expensive machine to maintain even if its a perfect specimen, The succession of short ownerships should tell the story..

You should be able to get the engine number that the car was built with from the dealer.

If a BMW dealer recoded the dash to ECM mileage numbers it should be on record.

Thanks honestly though, i doubt it was rebuilt all the vin stickers are present on the door and trunk i bought it off some guy on craigslist not a dealer, thanks though.
