The 1-1/2 ton rating is sufficient to jack up one corner to change a tire or the front or rear to get the car up on stands. The bigger question: Do you really want to trust a $99 nameless POS jack (or even a $400 Snap-On jack) with your life? Use jack stands with any floor jack, please.
