Hope this helps. (Thanks to Brett@OCD )

1. Before throwing them into the washer, make sure there is no little pieces of wood/rock, whatever that might harm the towels.
2. After adding liquid detergent to cold or warm (Brett ) water, let the towels sit in the washer for like 20 minutes before wash cycle starts.
3. When rinse cycle starts, put some (not much) white distilled vinegar.
4. Air-dry (I prefer air-drying )
5. Store them in zipper bags or plastic containers as soon as it's dry.
