Description: Saab 900 S in beautiful Citron Beige with light tan cloth interior. Through and through, this is an excellent and tight example of the breed.
Cosmetically, this car leaves little to find fault with. The metallic paint shines beautifully and waxes right up, and appears to be 100% original. The head and tail lights are clear and shiny, showing no cracking, fading or sun damage. There are very limited dings or scratches on the paint, and no rust to be found anywhere. The grill and trim are clean, complete, and show no wear or sun fading. There are no chips or stars in the windshield. Both mirrors are complete and undamaged. Very attractive alloy wheels, giving this car an attractive and sporty poise. The headlight wipers are a nice touch.
Inside is very clean, and free from any sun damage or wear to the seats. The dashboard looks like new, and the trim and center console shine nicely and look clean. There is no dirt or wear on the seats or carpet, and it's clear to see the previous owner took good care of this Saab. Not short on options, there are power windows, power locks, cruise control, a 4 speed automatic transmission with overdrive, intermittent wipers and rear glass defrost, rear wiper, remote/keyless entry, air conditioning and climate control, heated seats, a stock clarion headunit with AM/FM, cassette deck, courtesy lighting, and fold down rear seats for added storage. The ignition key is in the classic Saab position - between the seats. A driver information panel can display system messages in several different languages. Driver and passenger side airbags and full shoulder belts for all five passengers provide unparalleled safety. All the options appear to be working as they should, as do all gauges and indicators.
Mechanically, this Saab shows every sign of excellent health. It fires right up and idles smoothly and quietly, and goes down the road with very good power and control. Engine temperature remains normal at all operating speeds and traffic conditions, and the charging system keeps the battery at optimum level. The car stops perfectly and in a straight line with the safety of ABS. The transmission shifts well through all gears. This car is the "S" model, which added an upgraded motor with 150 horsepower - it's very peppy and a lot of fun to drive. There was no oil sludge in, on, or around the motor, leading us to believe this car had its fluids refreshed regularly. All of the belts and hoses are in very good condition.
The spare tire has been checked and aired, and all the jacking hardware is clean and stowed in its proper location. The hatchback area looks terrific and was obviously lightly used. An owner's manual and documentation is stored in an attractive leather pouch in the glove box. All in all, this is a very clean and good looking example of a practical and sporty breed of automobile. Parents have owned many Saabs, and this one has all the charming traits that made us a fan of the cars for many years. The interesting color and attractive interior add to the charm, and the build quality of these cars is very impressive - all the doors close with a solid and pleasing European "thud." If you are looking for a safe and practical car to use in any weather (Saabs have an exceptional reputation for stability in adverse conditions), this would make an excellent choice. If kept on a continuing schedule of proper maintenance, this car could deliver 250,000 or 300,000 miles or more of faithful driving without requiring major service. A very realiable car, great car for a kid just starting to drive.
There are aftermarket foglights (Hella Celis- Very bright) that will stay with the car and the car has strobe lights built into the front turn signal lenses. i have a set for the rear but they need to be installed and they DO come with the car, there is also a controller for the strobes. There is also a set of strobes in the front grill that DO work as of now and there is a seperate switch for them. Freshly waxed as of 8/17/06
