Yeah, I hear yah on lining it back up. Basically, what I did was get the alternator in there and when I got it where I thought it was close, I got the pulley bolt in and had it do the pulling and positioning, with a bit of my nudging. Once I did that, I backed out the bolt and then worked in getting the bottom bolt threaded. It worked for me.
