tex-mex chili*

a. 1 1/2 med onions, chopped
b. 1 small clove of garlic, minced
c. 1/2 jalapeno, chopped
d. 3 tblsp oil

e. 4 lbs ground beef

f. 8 tblsp chili powder (big jar)
g. 1 tblsp cumen
h. 2 tsp garlic salt
i. 1/4 tsp tabasco
j. 1 can beer

k. 1/4 cup water
l. 14. oz can stewed tomatoes, blended
m. 8 oz. can tomato sauce
n. 6 oz. can tomato paste
o. 4 oz. can diced green chili


1. sautee abc in d until a is clear
2. Add e, cook until brown
3. Drain fat.
4. combine fghi with salt & pepper and j in bowl, let stand 2 minutes
5. add step 4 and klmno to meat
6. simmer covered on low heat for 3 hours, stir every 30 minutes

*can be served with rice or cornbread
