when you say glued permanently, arent all lights glued about the same? for the s2000 you just bake them in the oven on a wet towel until the glue is soft enough to pull apart, remove the amber lense, re-glue and then test for leaks in a bucket of water. it sounds like a lot of work but I can do a set of headlights in about an hour and that time includes removing hid ballasts.
the reason I wanted to take the stocks apart is cause the lining on the inside is silver not black. Black looks ok but since my car is silver i thought the stock colored lining would look cleaner.
