TV should NOT be mounted eye level to the middle.

If that's true, then why are so many of the tv stands like 19" tall (which puts the center of a 50" widescreen about 34-36" above the floor)? Shouldn't these be designed at 24" tall...?
The ratio of eye level dramatically changes as the distance from the TV changes.
We generally install the BOTTOM of the TV to be eye level if possible at the recommended distance from the TV.
If it is too low, it looks stupid when you are standing.
