If the amp takes balanced-differengtial signals, you can solder RCA wires to the OEM amplifier inputs and plug into the amp.
The rule of thumb I use for designing a system is 2-3 more power for bass than other speakers combined. Since our cars suck for bass, I would lean towards 3-times as much power. If you haven't purchased an amp yet, consider splitting into two amps a 4-channel + a separate amp for the sub.
