That isnt true. All he is saying is that the ice>Link solution has two options for mounting. One that is the cradle and another that is just like the Apple/BMW version (which, for someone who wants to keep the ipod in their euro tray, for example, is perfect for the job).

Basically, the feature that will sway buyers from one kit to the other can be listed as follows:

Apple/BMW solution: Offers 5 playlists on the MID, the 6th "playlist" plays the entire iPod. The iPod interface is locked.
Dension ice>Link: offers no playlist selection from car interface, but allows full use of the iPod interface.

That's all. That and availability, installation and cost. If the Apple/BMW solution didn't lock the interface (and offered a mounting solution since it would then be necessary), I doubt many would pick the ice>Link over the Apple/BMW. If the ice>Link offered playlist selection on the MID, many more would choose it over the Apple/BMW. As they are, as I said before, they are targeted at slightly different user bases.[/quote]

I agree with you there. The main difference right now is the whole 5 set playlists that you can also control, or unlimited use of playlists that (currently) require changing on the ipod. My only concern about the BMW one is that it really is just like you are taking a 6-disc cd changer and making it a 5-disc mp3 cd-player. If you had a 5-disc mp3 player you would have the same effect (since you can hold up to 150-200 on an mp3-coded cd) as the apple/bmw solution. But you're right that it is a personal preference issue: If you like the idea of a 5-playlist changer, apple/bmw is a good solution. If you pick a playlist and listen to it for a while (rarely changing) or tend of have friends in the car that like to pick and choose songs (which i see as the biggest plus of the ice>Link), then I say go with the ice>Link.
