I have a 318i A/T 2003 model. I bought it in 2011 October with 88k on the clock with full service history. The reading stands currently at 105k and I just had a inspection i service done. The Garage told me that the car was standing too much and developed some problems like oil leaks. According to them the kilometers are not tempered with and ar genuine. It seems that the myth that a BMW does not like to be stationery for long times is true I contacted the previous owner and he told me that he only drove the car on weekends and that he actually hardly drove it on long distances. The Garage said that the oil formed a sludge in the sump and top and that they have to remove the engine to open it and to claen the skudge especially from the sump and the top. I just want to know is there not a cheaper way to do this for I am quoted in excess of 5K for the job alone. All the gaskets have to be replaced which also is expensive so I am expecting a bill of close to 10k again.:yikes:
